Sigma Aerospace Workforce is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Avionics Technician or Aviation Tradesperson to bring their technical knowledge into a hands-on training and mentoring role.
Based at Amberley, this full-time role gives you the opportunity to remain connected to an operational Defence aviation environment while delivering practical and classroom-based technical training supporting the C-27J Spartan.

Deliver aircraft maintenance training in classroom and practical environments
Train and mentor developing aviation maintenance personnel
Assess student competency and provide practical coaching and feedback
Prepare and deliver training and assessments in accordance with approved programs
Maintain and improve courseware, learning materials and training resources
Support students throughout their learning journey
Maintain accurate training records and documentation
Work closely with Defence personnel and aviation industry stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement across the training environment

Demonstrated aircraft maintenance experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Avionics Technician or Aviation Tradesperson. Strong technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, procedures and systems is required.
Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Mechanical or Avionics is highly desirable. Equivalent aviation trade qualifications and relevant technical aircraft maintenance experience may also be considered.
Australian Citizenship is required. Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
This is a full-time, Amberley-based role. The standard working schedule is Monday to Friday. Travel is not required. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
Applicants must be able to meet applicable Defence site access, security and onboarding requirements. An existing NV1 Security Clearance will be highly regarded.
Strong technical aircraft maintenance knowledge, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others.
You should be confident delivering information in both classroom and practical training environments and able to maintain accurate training records and documentation.
The ability to coach, mentor, assess competency and support learners with different levels of experience is important.

Experience working on similar Defence aircraft
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
Previous technical training experience
Experience mentoring apprentices, technicians or engineers
